mexico numero uno
hola!
have just returned from a wedding in mexico (christian wed alejandra). here find the first of two (or maybe three) installments of pics/stories. enjoy!

actually this is amsterdam airport.

ok. welcome to mexico!

i wish it had been daytime and that this had been our taxi from the airport to the hostel near the zocalo (main square). instead it was night and we were bundled into a van with a guy from argentina, no seatbelts, and a driver who kept turning around in his seat to ask us: where are you from? you been here before? welcome to mexico!
eyes on the road, cowboy. i was wishing i were anywhere but there, in that van/taxi, in scary dark mexico df (distrito federal - mexico city)....
but after a good night sleep we set off for the palacio nacional and some diego rivera murals - a highlight for me

travel buddies lucy and ann having a much-needed relax in our hostel

the next day we explored chapultepec park and the museo nacional de antropologia. in the park we can across the flying men (not sure if they were THE flying men of papantla, but they were certainly entertaining) and a massive group of school children aged circa 4 years old. they were almost as interesting in tall, blond, pale nadine as they were in the men twirling towards the earth...

gustavo joined us at the museum...

...and we set off for an afternoon in the boho suburb of coyoacan (tune in next time for pics of this and the rest of the trip).
hasta luego, amigos.
