i cut an artery (!!) in my big toe tonight as I arrived home from work. at first was kind of in shock. then got some elevation and ice action happening and felt better. then called Alex (doctor) and got a bit scared. then called my mom and boo hoo'd on the phone for about 15 minutes. i mean really wailed. could i have still been in shock? all due to fears of having to drill into the nail to relieve the pressure. good god help me. then mom called back to say dad would call later. dad called. joked that because i was eating they wouldn't be able to operate until tomorrow. ha freakin ha. then he asked me to take photos of my toe from different angles and email them to him. which i shockingly did, feeling like an idiot. all throughout i was wearing a paper crown that came out of the christmas cracker ian gave me to open to take my mind off the pain.

i tell you - it was my finest hour.
