the blogging has slowed

as rob rightly pointed out, the blogging has slowed considerably in the last little while. you are correct, my son.

but now i've got performance anxiety.

maybe i'll just tell you the things that have been passing through my head lately. sort of stream of consciousness. that being different from my regular writing style in many ways, which i'll forgo discussing for the moment.

so i never told you what happened on the ski trip. the near death experience. well, you gotta promise not to tell my mom, but i was skiing off-piste (without off-piste insurance) with three of the boys on the trip. maybe i was caught up in the moment. maybe i was over-confident. and maybe there was a lot of testosterone floating around, but i decided i wanted to ski down one of the steepest bits of portes du soleil (the area). i went right after johnnie and was doing great (in fact, moving quite quickly, according to johnnie. hmf! don't remember that part!). i stopped next to him to wait for the other two boys to come down. and then i fell backwards, skis pointing up the hill. ha ha, well i'll just get back up, i thought. or not. i started to slide down the hill head first and facing the sky and not the snow. i quickly flipped onto my belly and tried to stop myself by digging my hands/boots (by now both skis were off - didn't even occur to me at the time that they could have sliced my head off had they come wizzing down the fill after me). instead of slowing down, i seemed to be speeding up.

i. thought. i. was. going. to. die.

i kept passing big BIG rocks and each time half-praying i could grab on and hold on to stop myself, half-praying i wouldn't dash my brains out on it. i have never been so terrified in all my life. i finally managed (on attempt 3 or 4) to grab on and keep hold of one of the rocks. it was then i realised fully what had happened. the steepness of the hill (very), the length of my fall (about 100 meters), and how close i can to...no! don't want to think about it.

so there you have it.

i'm half watching the brit awards right now. i can't believe they gave the award for best british song of the past 25 years to robbie williams for "angels". that's gotta be a crime against music. i just watched "24 hour party people", as per duncan's suggestion. there was loads of joy division and happy mondays music, among other british punk artists from the seventies/early eighties (the buzzcocks, the clash, sex pistols). and they gave the award to robbie williams. now i've seen it all.

also - what do you think my chances are of:
1. becoming a dj on bbc radio?
2. or if that doesn't work, of getting a date with andrew collins, from bbc 6 music? he makes me WAY happier than a radio dj should.

how cool is gwen stefani? so cool.

ya, that's about it. no, not really, but i'm tired and gotta go pack for the weekend (graduation and mom and dad are here).
