inappropriateness
the last two days have been filled to the brim with inappropriateness.
1. i went to the dears' concert in london after taking a sick day (legitimately) yesterday. some would say inappropriate. i would say "it was the DEARS".
2. got a letter today addressed to Dr. Andrea Mann. woo. bring it.
3. got an email today addressed to Mrs. Andrea Mann. awesome.
[note, i got a PhD and got hitched in the last 24 hours. try to keep up.]
4. i sent a reminder letter to an investigator asking a question that had been asked 6 months ago by my predecessor and for which we had not received a reply. the lack of reply may have been due to the fact that the answer to the question is plain as day in the methods section of the paper. thank god the politeness of my letter was met with a polite email reply (to mrs. andrea mann, see number 3 above) drawing my attention to the information in the paper. feel like a dufus, and should have checked the paper before sending the reminder letter. never assume anything. like assuming the senior researcher before you wouldn't send a letter asking a question for which we didn't need an answer. duh. a better epidemiologist would never have done what i did. i don't deserve this job. sniff. maybe i'll resign.
