oops, i mean a (space) political rant. you may have started reading thinking i'm going to talk about something other than the fact that george bush (in lower case) has been elected for his second term in office.

and to think people get canadians and americans confused!

I'M not confused.

the little guy from shawinigan may, at times, have been a bit of a loose canon. he may have, say, belted a protester who got a little too close and, maybe, let aline wield the soap stone Inuit carving in their late night encounter with an intruder at sussex drive.

but he was a solid guy who, when canadians voiced concerns about joining the coalition of the willing said "hey, let's not join the coalition of the willing". when francie ducros attempted to resign in the maelstrom following her calling dubya, off the record, a moron, he said "hey, he is a moron, you can stay". and we ratified kyoto cuz, heck, sounds like a plan!

paul's got big shoes to fill, but previous experience tells me he's likely not to do anything TOO stupid because he knows that, come the next election, we're not likely to vote a moron's party back into office.
