more than once since i've moved to cambridge (which reminds me, i have to amend my blog to reflect i no longer live in london. i don't want to do this, though, since i hope i'll be moving back to london imminently.) i've thought: this town in too small for me.
on my may to work this morning with my weekend bag rolling along behind me (ya, i'm deluding myself if i think i can go to edinburgh for the weekend with a small backpack or cumbersome over-the-shoulder bag. no no. BIG rolling duffle bag, check) i spotted a dewy spider web on the red post-box. ooo! so pretty. so i stopped, pulled out the digital camera and started snapping...
(beauty of digital: perfectionists like me can keep on snap-snapping until we are completely satisfied/embarassed at how long we've been standing 10 centimeters from a post-box)
i was moving off in the direction of work again, feeling quite pleased with my stop-and-smell-the-roses attitude, when i noticed a man peering out his living-room window at me. oh god.

schmandrea andrea jones! I'm going to have to start reading your blog regularly because it is lots o' fun. I can actually hear your voice saying everything, in various tones and accents. you got to see the roots: you are the object of all envy! did they play '100% Dundee'? this is my favourite roots tune at the moment.
on Sunday I am attending my first baby shower (first friend's baby shower, I should specify). I can't handle it. this girl is only a year older than I am! dear andrea please do not get married and/or pregnant in the next little while. (ha! I can hear you now: WHAT? PregWHAT? ME? Are you crazy?! As if! Shhh-my parents read this!)
